Ambassador Johnny Ibrahim Pays Parting Visit to the Prelate

On Wednesday, February 7, 2018, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, welcomed to the Prelacy the outgoing Consul General of Lebanon in Los Angeles, His Excellency Ambassador Johnny Ibrahim, who will soon be assuming his new mission as Ambassador of Lebanon to Argentina. Joining the Prelate in the visit were Archpriest Fr. Nareg Pehlivanian, Rev. Fr. Movses Shannakian, Executive Council Chair Mr. Vahe Hovaguimian, and Mr. Vahan Bezdikian, member of the Advisory Board of the Consulate General and former Executive Council member.

The Prelate warmly greeted the Ambassador and expressed appreciation for the further strengthening of ties between the two communities during Mr. Ibrahim’s tenure as Consul General, assuring that the close friendship will certainly continue. Mr. Hovaguimian stated that the Prelacy regards Ambassador Ibrahim as a member of the family, congratulated his promotion to Ambassador, and wished him great success in all future endeavors. In turn, Mr. Bezdikian thanked and congratulated the Ambassador and noted that there exists a sizeable Armenian community in Argentina, expressing confidence that a close relationship will be forged between the two communities.

The visit continued with a discussion on the current situation in Lebanon and related matters, and concluded with the Prelate presenting a plaque to Ambassador Ibrahim on behalf of the Religious and Executive Councils commending his distinguished service, expressing gratitude for his friendship and solidarity with the Western Prelacy and Armenian community, and conveying best wishes for continued successes in his diplomatic endeavors.
