On Saturday, October 29, 2016, the annual banquet of St. Sarkis Church of Pasadena was held at “Great Caesar” Banquet Hall under the auspices of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, and with the participation of parish family members, Executive Council members Mr. Avo Kechichian and Mrs. Therese Kemanjian, former California State Assembly Member and current California State Senate candidate Mr. Anthony Portantino, members of sister organizations, sponsors, and friends.
The program began with welcoming remarks by MC Mrs. Vartoug Avedikian, who briefly spoke about the importance of service to our church. Parish Pastor Rev. Fr. Boghos Baltayan blessed the tables. The Board of Trustees message was conveyed by Chairman Mr. Koko Panossian, who greeted and thanked the Prelate and guests. Mr. Portantino also addressed the gathering and conveyed his congratulations and well wishes.
The Prelate delivered his message, first congratulating and conveying his blessings to the parish family. His Eminence focused his message on the importance of service and fellowship, stating that the church is a family, whose members are called to serve for its progress with faith, hope, and love, to walk together on the same journey of faith; that the Church is one body, with Christ as the head, and as such, each member of that body has a responsibility and duty to keep the body healthy and alive and not cause it any harm. Finally, the Prelate stated that if we are all members of one and the same flock, then we must serve in the spirit of collaboration and unity, with love toward God and brotherly love toward one another.
