The evening began with the national anthems of Armenia and the U.S. The Prelate delivered the invocation, after which he conveyed his message. “Today is a most joyous occasion as we have gathered to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of ‘Rosdom’ Gomideh and also to pledge to continue to serve with renewed drive and unwavering resolve to achieve our national goals and dreams,” began His Eminence. “’Rosdom’ Gomideh was born out of a need six decades ago as the Armenian population of the region grew and it became necessary to organize the community. It became the link that bridged the community, promoted our values and heritage, and contributed to the advancement of the nascent Holy Martyrs Church and Ferrahian School. Year by year it has expanded its endeavors; the torch passed down from one generation to the next, added new members, and today’s members serve devotedly for its continued growth and expansion, not for personal praise or glory, rather for the good of our people and nation, and for the defense of our rights and our cause, as all ARF members have served throughout history.” The Prelate concluded by congratulating “Rosdom” Gomideh’s leadership, members, supporters, the greater ARF family, and the evening’s honorees, and wished them even greater successes to come.

Remarks by MC Mr. Armen Hovannisian and banquet sponsor Mr. Mike Sarian followed. Next, a candle-lighting memorial tribute was held, past Chairmen were recognized, and finally, members of over sixty years were honored. The Gomideh’s message was delivered by Mr. Hrair Nahabedian.

The evening continued with musical entertainment.
