E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, who was joined by Archpriest Fr. Nareg Pehlivanian.

The students first toured the Prelacy and became familiarized with the staff and departments, after which they gathered at the “St. Dertad and St. Ashkhen” Chapel for a prayer service dedicated to our holy martyrs and to receive the Prelate’s blessings. On behalf of her classmates, Natalia Mihranian thanked the Prelate for hosting their pilgrimage and pledged that they will preserve our language, faith, and traditions and be the worthy heirs of St. Gregory the Illuminator and St. Mesrob Mashdots. The students presented a program of songs and hymns, after which they presented a memento to the Prelate. His Eminence gifted the students illustrated cards with a prayer for the intercession of our holy martyrs, a book by Jacques Hagopian dedicated to the Armenian Genocide, and a poster bearing the famous quote by William Saroyan. Given that the visit took place in the days following the 101st anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, His Eminence explained the meaning of canonization to the students.

The program continued with the placing of flowers at the newly inaugurated Armenian Genocide memorial monument, where the students presented more songs and recitations. The Prelate commended the students for their presentations and their pledge to remain faithful to our church and nation. The visit concluded with the Lord’s Prayer and the benediction by the Prelate.
