On Thursday, November 16, 2017, the Armenian Bar Association’s annual Judges’ Night was held at Glen Arden Club in Glendale, this year honoring three renowned jurists, the Honorable Victor Chavez, the Honorable Huey Cotton, and the Honorable Holly Fujie.

Mistress of Ceremonies Mrs. Vanna Kitsinian delivered opening remarks and invited H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, to deliver the invocation and his remarks. He commended the Association’s leadership and membership for their hard work and efforts locally by providing a valuable forum for legal professionals and internationally by contributing to the improvement of the legal system and rule of law in Armenia. The Prelate lauded the evening’s honorees as three exemplary jurists who have distinguished themselves as champions of human rights, diversity, social justice and activism. He beseeched the Lord’s wisdom and guidance upon all the legal professionals who faithfully serve for the protection of our constitutional rights and civil liberties, prayed for God to guide the judges in their mighty responsibilities, their daily pursuit of justice and their mission of interpreting and implementing the law with fairness, impartiality, and integrity.

At the approach of the Thanksgiving holiday and the start of the Christmas season, the Prelate concluded by thanking and praising the Lord for the multitude of blessing in our lives and once again blessed all.

In his message, Armenian Bar Association Chairman Saro Kerkonian applauded the devoted public service of the honorees and that of all the members of our judiciary, and highlighted the Association’s mission and commitment to defending the independence of the judicial branch of government and zealously advocating for the sanctity of a nation governed by the rule of law.
