On Tuesday, February 7, 2017, representatives of the Armenian Bone Marrow Donor Registry, headed by President Dr. Frieda Jordan, paid their annual New Year’s visit to H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate. It has become a tradition for the members to visit at the start of each year to update the Prelate on the progress and achievements of the ABMDR and receive his blessings for their future activities.
After an exchange of pleasantries, the discussion turned to the organization’s recent endeavors and future plans, including visits to Javakhk and Argentina to register new donors, tissue-typing patients and their families in Armenia free of charge, and making its Cancer Symposium aimed at educating and helping the community part of its annual series of events.
The representatives thanked the Prelate for his years-long support of the organization while His Eminence offered his blessings and encouragement to the ABMDR’s dedicated volunteers and reaffirmed the Prelacy’s assistance in their outreach efforts. The Prelate also proposed May 7 as the date for this year’s “ABMDR Prayer Day.”
