On behalf of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, on Friday, September 22, 2017, Very Rev. Fr. Torkom Donoyan, Vicar General, traveled to Las Vegas to participate in a number of events dedicated to the 26th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia and the Lebanese Diaspora.

On Saturday morning, Fr. Torkom participated in the opening of the Second Lebanese Diaspora Energy Conference for North America, held under the auspices of H.E. Gebran Bassil, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants. Members of the Lebanese Government, and Parliament, and various national institutions participated in the conference, which aims to bring together the Lebanese Diaspora for a discussion on various sectors and to strengthen the bond between Lebanon and the Diaspora. In the evening, Fr. Torkom attended the gala dinner, during which he conveyed the Prelate’s blessings and well wishes to Mr. Bassil and Consul General Johnny Ibrahim.

On Sunday morning, Fr. Torkom celebrated Divine Liturgy, conducted Prayers for the Republic, and delivered the sermon at St. Garabed Church. In the evening, he attended an Independence Day celebration during which he conveyed the Prelate’s congratulations. The event was held under the auspices of the Honorable Sergey Sarkisov, Consul General of the Republic of Armenia in Los Angeles, organized by the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Armenia in Las Vegas, Mr. Adroushan Armenian, and sponsored by Las Vegas Armenian-American organizations.
