On Tuesday, February 16, 2016, members of the Armenian Relief Society Regional Executive, headed by Central Executive member Maral Matossian and Regional Chairperson Becky Berberian, paid a visit to the Prelacy where they met with H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate. His Eminence was joined by H.E. Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian, Prelate of Aleppo, who is in Los Angeles to participate in the SARF Telethon, and Archpriest Fr. Nareg Pehlivanian.
The guests spoke of the general endeavors of the ARS and various challenges they encounter, specifically the Social Services department, to which the Prelate responded affirming the full support and collaboration of the Prelacy to overcome any and all difficulties for the benefit of our community. Archbishop Sarkissian reported on the critical situation of Armenians in Syria and in Aleppo especially, noting the most recent damage suffered by the ARS medical center in Aleppo. Also discussed was the yearly requiem service held in Prelacy Churches for departed members of the ARS, which this year will take place on February 28. At the conclusion of the meeting the Prelate wished great successes for the ARS and presented mementos to the guests.
