On Sunday, October 14, 2018, the “ARS Day” celebration was held at Wilson Middle School in Glendale to mark the 35th anniversary of the ARS Western Region. H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, attended, accompanied by Rev. Fr. Ardak Demirjian.
The program began with the flag ceremony by Homenetmen scouts, followed by the anthems of the U.S., Armenia, and the ARS. Welcoming remarks were delivered Mrs. Sona Madarian, MC. Guests viewed a video presentation on the endeavors of the ARS. Mrs. Maral Touloumian delivered remarks on behalf of the ARS Regional Executive.

The cultural program included songs by ARS Saturday School students, dances by the Hamazkayin “Ani Dance Company,” patriotic songs by Tro Krikorian, accompanied by Ara Dabanjian, a recitation by Mrs. Maral Varjabedian, and musical selections on the violin by Nanor and Dzovag Seraydarian.
The Prelate congratulated the members of the ARS, and on this occasion presented a certificate of commendation to the ARS Hollywood “Mayr” Chapter which earlier in the year celebrated its centennial.
