The Prelate welcomed the guests, commended their service and wished them continued successes. The representatives reported on their upcoming plans and events, among them the Javakhk Fund annual Dinner Cruise to take place on March 1st, to which they formally invited the Prelate. There was also discussion on collaborative efforts between the Prelacy and the ARS, such as the annual requiem service for departed ARS members held at Prelacy Churches, which this year will be held on Sunday, February 22nd.

The conversation then turned to commemorations planned for the Armenian Genocide centennial on a local, national, and international level. The Prelate highlighted two key events, the commemoration in Washington D.C. in May led by H.H. Karekin II, Catholicos of all Armenians, and H.H. Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, and the blessing of Holy Muron in Bikfaya, Lebanon on July 18 by our Pontiff, His Holiness Aram I, noting that pilgrimages are being organized for faithful from the Western United States to participate in the historic events.

The visit concluded with the presentation of mementos by the Prelate, which included a newly published illustration of William Saroyan’s famous quote about the survival of the Armenian people.
