Kevin Roberts welcoming the Prelate and thanking him for the service and for his continued support and blessings. The invocation by Chaplain Al Garcilazo followed.
In his address to the administration and staff of Glendale Adventist, the Prelate first thanked God for the opportunity to once again conduct the special service. His Eminence gave an overview of the Feast of Assumption and the associated tradition of the grape blessing, its symbolism and meaning. The Prelate stated that the custom of offering the first fruits of the harvest as thanksgiving to God comes from Old Testament times, but noted that today we use grapes, the queen of the fruits, for it produces the wine symbolizing the sacrificial blood of our Lord and Savior which we receive during Holy Communion. The Prelate conveyed his appreciation to Mr. Kevin Roberts and to the administration for their continue collaboration and fellowship, blessed them for the compassionate service they provide, and prayed for healing for the patients under their care.
The blessing of the grapes ceremony was then conducted.
The service concluded with the benediction by Chaplain Elias Molinas.
Following the service, the Prelate and Pastors visited hospital rooms to offer healing prayers and blessings to the patients, who praised God for the special care and comfort they received.
