Blessing of Grapes at Glendale Adventist in Celebration of the Feast of Assumption


In celebration of the Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God, and in keeping with an over two-decades-long tradition with the Prelacy, on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, pastors of St. Mary’s Church in Glendale, Archpriest Fr. Vazken Atmajian, Rev. Fr. Gomidas Torossian, and Rev. Fr. Ardak Demirjian, conducted the blessing of grapes ceremony at the hospital Chapel.

Kevin Roberts delivered welcoming remarks thanking the pastors for visiting and conducting the service year after year and stating that their prayers encourage and strengthen the participants in their service and mission.

The invocation by Senior Chaplain Al Garcilazo followed.

The blessing of grapes was then conducted, after which Fr. Vazken delivered his remarks, conveying the blessings of the Prelate and thanking the past and present administration and chaplain for organizing the ceremony each year and offering the opportunity to come together in prayer and thanksgiving to God for His blessings.

The service concluded with the benediction by Chaplain Elias Molina.

Thereafter, the pastors visited patient rooms to offer prayers and blessed grapes.
