Sunday, February 2 is the eve of the Fast of the Catechumens. The fast was established by St. Gregory the Illuminator when the Armenian nation became the first to adopt Christianity and is unique to the Armenian Church.
The fast begins on Sunday, February 2nd at midnight. On the morning of Wednesday February 5th, the blessing of water will be conducted in Prelacy Churches during which faithful break their fast by receiving Holy Communion and blessed water. Please contact your local parish for service time.
