On Wednesday, April 26, 2017, the Committee for Armenian Students in Public School (CASPS) hosted its 21st annual reception honoring outstanding Armenian students graduating from Glendale Unified School District at the Glendale Adult Recreation Center. H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, attended and conveyed his congratulations, blessings, and message to the graduates. He was accompanied by Archpriest Fr. Gomidas Torossian. Elected officials, community members, principals, teachers, and administrators of the Glendale Unified School District were in attendance.
The program began with welcoming remarks by CASPS Executive Director Mrs .Arsineh Hovannisian. Christine Dashdemirians served as the Mistress of Ceremonies.

Nerses the Graceful’s “I confess with faith” prayer, wishing the students wisdom to think, speak and do what is good in God’s eyes. On behalf of the Western Prelacy family, His Eminence congratulated and commended the students on their achievements and commended also their parents, educators, and the members of CASPS for their guidance and encouragement of our youth. The Prelate spoke to the students about the ups and downs of life, encouraging them to always have a positive perspective and outlook and navigate the bumps in the road with faith and patience. Evoking the recent celebration of Easter, the Prelate stressed that the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ is the greatest testament that with God nothing is impossible, and urged the youth to always pray, place their absolute trust in God and seek His strength, wisdom, and guidance. Finally, the Prelate wished the students continued successes in their educational pursuits and beyond, expressing confidence that they will become valuable assets to the Armenian-American community and society, and reminded them to bring glory to God, their families, and our nation in all that they do.
The program continued with the keynote address by Superintendent Vivian Ekchian, remarks by GUSD Board of Education President Dr. Armina Gharpetian, the Superintendent’s message by Winfred Roberson, musical performances, and the presentation of awards and certificates by CASPS member Annette Zarian.
