Chaplain Rafi Garabedian Honored by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department

On Saturday, August 12, 2017, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department 8th annual Volunteer Appreciation Awards Ceremony was held at the STAR Center in Whittier. This annual event is held to recognize chaplains and volunteers with over 20 years of service to the Sherriff’s Department.

Chaplain Rafi Garabedian, who by the ordinance of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, has been involved in jail ministry for 23 years, was honored with a Certificate of Appreciation for his dedicated volunteer service to inmates, former inmates, and recovering addicts. Rev. Fr. Ashod Kambourian was also in attendance.

Sheriff Jim McDonnell greeted the attendees and commended the volunteers for their valuable service.
