On Friday, December 28, 2018, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, accompanied by H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Vicar General, and clergy members, visited Ararat Home in Mission Hills to spread New Year and Christmas cheer to the residents through prayers, Divine Liturgy, and the blessing of water.
The visit began at the Nursing Facility with the blessing of the home service featuring Christmas hymns and the blessing of water. Prior to the service, the Prelate greeted the faculty and residents, wishing all a healthy and happy New Year and for the spirit of Christmas to remain alive in their hearts throughout the year. Keeping with tradition, resident Bedros Seferian sent a letter to the Prelate and clergy from the hospital wishing them a happy and healthy New Year and a Merry Christmas, adding, “We long for the blessings of the Holy Muron from the Holy See of Cilicia.

” On behalf of her colleagues, Skilled Nursing Facility Executive Director Ms. Margarita Kechichian thanked the Prelate and clergy for their regular visits and prayers and wished a happy New Year to all. The visit concluded with the residents receiving Holy Communion.
Divine Liturgy followed at the Sheen Memorial Chapel, celebrated by Very Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian who also delivered the sermon. At the conclusion of the service, the Prelate conducted the blessing of water. Board Chairman Michael Surmeian served as Godfather of the Cross.
Next, the blessing of the home service was conducted at the Assisted Living Facility, after which clergy, Board members, and faculty enjoyed a luncheon. Remarks and well wishes were delivered by Ararat Home Chief Operating Officer Mr. Derik Ghoogasian and Assisted Living Facility administrator Mrs. Rita Noravian. The Prelate once again conveyed his blessings and wishes to all for a healthy, joyful, and peaceful New Year.
