By the invitation of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, and the Executive Council, on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, Parish Pastors and Board of Trustees members gathered at the “Dikran and Zarouhie Der Ghazarian” Hall for a consultative meeting aimed at reorganizing and revitalizing parish endeavors.
Following the invocation the Prelate delivered his message, first commending the service of Board of Trustees members, in conjunction with Parish Pastors, while stressing the importance of maintaining close ties and collaboration between the Prelacy and parishes. He also reminded that the meeting was being held in light of the suggestion presented at the Representative Assembly to bring together members of the Religious Council, Executive Council, and parishes on a regular basis to ensure the smooth progress of endeavors.
Executive Council Chair Mr. Vahe Hovaguimian greeted the participants and gave a slideshow presentation on the Board of Trustees guidelines, which he noted is based on the Armenian National Constitution, which also serves as the basis for the Holy See of Cilicia and the Western Prelacy by-laws, and urged all to closely follow the principles and rules of the guidelines.
Religious Council Chair Very Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian gave a report on the sections of the guidelines that pertain to pastors, focusing on religious ceremonies and their roots in the doctrine of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
Executive Council Treasurer Mr. Avo Kechichian spoke on the subdivisions of the guidelines which relate to financial matters, as well as on financial legalities.
A question and answer session followed the presentations.
At the conclusion of the meeting the Prelate thanked all for a productive dialogues and the speakers for their presentations. His Eminence reiterated the importance of collaborative efforts, adhering to the guidelines, and serving with heart and soul, and wished continued successes to all in their mission. Finally, the Prelate noted that the meeting was called as part of Year of Renewal efforts, and underscored that renewal is not limited to the current year, rather it must be a constant part of our lives and service.
The meeting closed with the benediction and singing of Cilicia.
