Continued Prayers for Artsakh in Prelacy Churches amid the Ongoing War

As we approach the two-week mark since Azerbaijan launched a full-scale attack against Artsakh, our brave soldiers continue to faithfully and courageously defend our sacred lands at the cost of their lives. We have suffered civilian and military casualties and sustained damage to infrastructure, Churches, and cultural centers, including to the iconic Holy Savior Cathedral (Ghazanchetsots) in Shushi. Our heroic brothers and sisters fearlessly fight on, with the faith and conviction that we will prevail.

By the ordinance of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, on Sunday, September 27, “Der Voghormya” prayers were offered in Prelacy Churches for the souls of our martyrs, healing for the injured, strength and protection to our valiant soldiers, and peace and stability for our people. On Sunday, October 4, requiem and “Der Voghormya” prayers were offered for the souls of our martyrs, for the security of our homeland, the safety of our compatriots, and the restoration of peace.

As the fighting rages on, on Sunday, October 11, requiem and “Der Voghormya” prayers will once again be offered in Prelacy Churches during Divine Liturgy.

The Prelate will preside over Divine Liturgy and deliver the sermon at Holy Martyrs Church in Encino.

H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Vicar General, will preside over Divine Liturgy and deliver the sermon at St. Mary’s Church in Glendale.
