On Thursday, August 13, 2015, the Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God was celebrated at Ararat Home in Mission Hills with Divine Liturgy and the blessing of grapes presided by H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, and with the participation of clergy members.
The day began with a prayer service and blessing of grapes at the nursing facility, followed by the blessing of water with new Holy Muron. The Prelate conveyed his blessings and well wishes to the administration, staff, and residents, and spoke to them about the symbolism and meaning of the Muron and the blessed grapes and of the adoration of the Armenian people toward the Virgin Mary as our intercessor before our Lord Jesus Christ. At the conclusion of the service attendees received prayers beseeching the intercession of the Holy Mother of God.
Divine Liturgy followed at the Sheen Chapel, celebrated by Rev. Fr. Razmig Khatchadourian, Pastor of Holy Martyrs Church in Encino. The blessing of water and grapes followed, led by Very Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian.
The celebration concluded with lunch hosted by the administration.
