On Saturday, April 6, 2019, the Armenian Church will observe the feast of the St. Gregory the Illuminator’s Descent into the Pit, which is the name day of St. Gregory the Illuminator Church of San Francisco, and on April 7, the sixth Sunday of Great Lent, Sunday of the Second Coming, as well as the Annunciation of the Holy Mother of God.
In keeping with tradition, on Sunday, April 7, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, will celebrate Divine Liturgy, deliver the sermon, and conduct the blessing of madagh at St. Gregory the Illuminator Church. On Friday evening, His Eminence will preside over Great Lent vigil service at the Church.
Over the weekend, the Prelate will meet with the Pastor and Board of Trustees, as well as with His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of San Francisco and Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco.
