On the occasion of the name day of St. Garabed Church in Hollywood, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, celebrated Divine Liturgy. Archpriest Fr. Vicken Vasillian served on the altar. In attendance were parishioners, members and representatives of community organizations. After delivering his message, the Prelate read the Pontifical declaration relating to the 2022 “Year of Diaspora.”
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, a madagh blessing ceremony took place. As for the past 40 years, Mr. Vahe Garabedian – the godfather to the consecration of the church – sponsored the madagh.
It should be noted that on the same day, the declaration of H.H. Aram I Catholicos’ “2022 – Year of the Diaspora” was read in all the Prelacy churches. H.E. Archbishop Yeprem Tabakian read the declaration at St. Mary’s Church in Glendale, and H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian read the declaration at Holy Martyrs Church in Encino.
