On Wednesday, June 18, a farewell dinner was held at Brandview Collection to celebrate and honor Mr. Vazken Madenlian, who retired after 23 years of service as Principal of Vahan and Anoush Chamlian School.
H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, attended and conveyed his blessings and well wishes.
Members of the Chamlian extended family were joined by church and community leaders and representatives as well as elected officials who had come to honor Mr. Madenlian with certificates of appreciation and mementos.
ARF Central Committee Chair Dr. Viken Hovsepian was among the evening’s speakers who praised Mr. Madenlian’s noteworthy contributions in the field of education.
His Eminence commended Mr. Madenlian for his over two-decade long exemplary service, leadership, and significant contributions to the education and instruction of our youth. The Prelate spoke highly of Mr. Madenlian as a loving husband and father, and recently as a proud grandfather, as principled, humble, patriotic, fair-minded man and an exemplary principal.
The Prelate then announced that in response to an appeal by the Board of Regents of Prelacy Schools, he had requested a Letter of Blessing from His Holiness Aram I, to which His Holiness had replied favorably. His Eminence read the Pontifical Letter of Blessing, which he then presented to Mr. Madenlian. The Prelate also presented the honoree with the book “Rescued Armenian Treasures from Cilicia”.
The program concluded with Mr. Madenlian’s remarks conveying thanks and gratitude to the evening’s organizers and guests.
