Festive Atmosphere at St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in San Francisco

On April 3, 2022, on the occasion of St. Gregory the Illuminator’s “Entrance in the pit,” the Prelate of the Western Prelacy H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan celebrated Divine Liturgy at St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in San Francisco. The Liturgy was served by the pastor of the church, Very Rev. Fr. Smpad Sabounjian and the dean of St. Mary’s Armenian Church in Glendale Very Rev. Fr. Zareh Sarkissian. In attendance were Mr. Garbis Bezjian, a member of the Executive Council, representatives of community organizations, benefactors and parishioners.

There was a special festive atmosphere in the church. After greeting those present, Bishop Donoyan delivered his message, in which he praised the reality of Jesus Christ as being the inexhaustible, immortal and true light, and he invited the faithful to walk in the light of Christ, and to live a godly life, away from sin.

At the end of the Liturgy, on the occasion of the name day of the church, the Prelate congratulated the local community and wished that through the intercession of Gregory the Illuminator, divine love will become a complete presence in the life of the community, and people will treat each other with mutual respect and brotherly love.
