For The Preservation of Western Armenian Language, the Western Prelacy Established One Hundred Thousand ($100,000) Dollar Fund in Antelias

The existence of peoples and nations will be guaranteed by religion, homeland and culture. Within this circle, especially in the line of preservation of Western Armenian language, we are all invited to plan and implement ways in which we can keep the language healthy in everyday life. It is evident from the actions of the Holy See of Cilicia, led by H.H. Aram I., Catholicos, has been engaged in this work for years.

In October of this year, the Western Prelacy convened the 50th National Representatives Assembly, during which H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, stated that a special fund should be created so that the preservation of the Western Armenian language can be carried forward with renewed momentum. The assembly unanimously adopted the idea of Bishop Donoyan and encouraged the formation of that specific fund.

Therefore, the Bishop and Executive Council had a joint consultation, which resulted in the approval of the Fund for the Preservation of the Western Armenian Language in Antelias, in the amount of one hundred thousand ($100,000) dollars.

On this occasion, the Prelate appeals to everyone to put the issue of preserving the Western Armenian language as a very important topic and to bring their material and moral support to this urgent and vital project.
