Glendale Community Celebrates 40th Anniversary

On the evening of Saturday, November 21, 2015, the Glendale Armenian community gathered at the Glendale High School Auditorium to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its establishment, with the participation of St. Mary’s Church, Vahan and Anoush Chamlian School, Richard Tufenkian Pre-School, ARS “Sipan” Chapter, Homenetmen “Ararat” Chapter, Hamazkayin “Hovhannes Tumanyan” Chapter, and AYF “Shant” and “Zavarian” Chapters. The event was organized by the ARF “Aharonian” Gomideh.

H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, attended and delivered his message, commending all the volunteers who diligently serve for the progress of the largest Diaspora community in the U.S.

The program was comprised of remarks, songs, dance, and music. One of the youth performances featured posters that read, “Honor the past, brighten the present, and build the future,” which the Prelate referred to in his message, stating that the motto is a testament to the mindset of those who set out to organize the Armenian community of Glendale forty years ago. The Prelate highlighted the importance of remembering and honoring the past, and passing down that legacy to the new generations so that they can illuminate our future.
