On Friday, March 25, 2016, Good Friday, the somber service of the entombment of our Lord Jesus Christ was commemorated in Prelacy Churches with H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, presiding over the service at St. Sarkis Church in Pasadena.
In his message, the Prelate spoke on the meaning and message of the entombment of Christ, stressing that Jesus had to be buried as a necessary precursor to His Resurrection. And despite the efforts of the religious leaders to dispose of the body of Christ with those of criminals, Jesus was buried with honor by Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus and with the permission of Pontius Pilate, said His Eminence. “Later on, as we solemnly kneel in prayer before this symbolic tomb, let us beseech our life-giving Lord to cleanse us of sin and to strengthen and guide us by the triumph of His Resurrection,” concluded the Prelate.
