H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, accompanied by Rev. Fr. Karekin Bedourian, met with the newly elected Patriarch of the Eastern Assyrian Church, His Holiness Mar Awa III, the 122nd Catholicos-Patriarch. The meeting took place on Thursday, November, in Los Angeles.
On behalf of His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos, H.G. Bishop Donoyan, Prelate congratulated the Patriarch on his recent enthronement, and conveyed well wishes from the Western Prelacy on assuming his great mission of service.
The newly elected patriarch, who is in the United States on a Pastoral visit, conveyed appreciation for the brotherly greeting from Catholicos Aram I, and thanked the Prelate for his kind words, expressing great admiration and respect for the Armenian Church, toward Armenia, and the Armenian People.
On the same day, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, along with other spiritual leaders, attended a special prayer service at St. Mary’s Assyrian Church of the East in Tarzana. The Prelate was later a guest of His Holiness Mar Awa III, Patriarch, at a dinner banquet in his honor.
