From December 6-8, 2019, a number of cultural events organized by Hamazkayin Western Region were held in the community, which H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, and representatives attended.
On Friday, December 6, the screening of “The Stateless Diplomat,” a documentary film on the life of Diana Apcar, Honorary Consul of the first Republic of Armenia to Japan, was held at the Pasadena Armenian Center of Pasadena. On behalf of the Prelate, St. Sarkis Church Pastor Rev. Fr. Boghos Baltayan attended. In attendance were Consul General of Armenia Dr. Armen Baibourtian and a representative of Consul General of Japan Akira Muto.
On Saturday, December 7, the Prelate attended the 45th anniversary performance of the Hamazkayin Ani Dance Company which took place at John Wayne Performing Arts Center in Glendale.
On Sunday, December 8, a special event celebrating the life and works of Gomidas, Levon Shant, Hovhannes Tumanian, and Yervant Odian was held at Glendale Central Library in honor of the 150th anniversary of their births. H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Vicar General, attended and delivered his remarks, while Rev. Fr. Ghevont Kirazian conveyed closing remarks on behalf of the Prelate.
