On Saturday, August 25, 2018, Homenetmen “Shant” Chapter of Crescenta Valley celebrated the 25th anniversary of its establishment with a banquet held at Castaway Restaurant in Burbank. On behalf of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, Crescenta Valley Church Pastor Rev. Fr. Ghevont Kirazian attended and conveyed the blessings and message of His Eminence. Among the guests in attendance were members of the Homenetmen Regional Executive, ARF “Zavarian” Gomideh, sister organizations, and sponsors.
The program began with the flag ceremony by chapter scouts, followed by national anthems. Welcoming remarks were delivered by Mr. Raffi Hamparian, who served as MC alongside chapter Chair Mrs. Tamar Kaypekian. Fr. Ghevont Kirazian delivered the invocation and read the Prelate’s message as follows:
“With Christian love I greet the members of the Homenetmen “Shant” Chapter and all the scouting, athletic, and cultural volunteers who under the auspices of the Regional Executive have devotedly served the Crescenta Valley community over the past twenty-five years. Like all Homenetmen chapters, the “Shant” Chapter too, since its inception, has undertaken the sacred mission of instructing and enriching our youth with our national and religious treasures and has created a family atmosphere where our youth experience the love and care of the elders. It is no coincidence that the number of members has and continues to grow year after year. On this occasion, I congratulate the greater Homenetmen family. May God bless the founders and all the members. May you continue your path of service to even greater successes and new horizons.”
Mr. Pierre Manoukian delivered congratulatory remarks on behalf of the Homenetmen Regional Executive. The evening continued with musical entertainment.
