On Saturday, February 20, Mesrobian School celebrated the 50th anniversary of its establishment with a gala held at “Bagramian” Hall of Holy Cross Cathedral in Montebello. The celebration featured remarks, proclamations by city officials, presentation of awards, video presentation, and entertainment.
The Prelate attended and delivered the invocation and his message, prior to which His Eminence read and presented the letter of blessing of His Holiness Aram I, in which our Pontiff commended and congratulated the Mesrobian family for their commitment to carrying out the School’s worthy mission. His Holiness noted that celebrations of schools are a source of great spiritual joy for us all because the mission of the Armenian School is in essence people building and nation building, and commended the service of all those who in the past fifty years have made Mesrobian the great institution of learning that it is, yielding alumni who have become productive and influential members of society.
The Prelate began his message by greeting Principal David Ghoogasian, school board members, administrators, teachers, parents, students, alumni, and sponsors, and wishing them continued successes for decades more to come. His Eminence first paid tribute to the founders who planted the seeds of Mesrobian School fifty years ago, and commended their children and grandchildren who are keeping their vision and legacy. In addition to highlighting the high quality of education and cultural instruction provided by Mesrobian School, the Prelate highlighted the strong bond between the school, Holy Cross Cathedral, and the Montebello Armenian community, which has been instrumental to the successes of the school, and invited all those present to pledge their continued support so that the school may continue to educate the hearts and minds of generations more to come.
The Prelate commended all the individuals and organizations who have committed themselves and invested their time, talents, and resources to the advancement of Mesrobian School, including Holy Cross Cathedral, Tro Gomideh, and sister organizations, stating, “the revival that this school has experienced in the past few years is undeniable, and that is owing to the collective efforts and dedication of all of you here tonight.” In conclusion, His Eminence blessed all past and present principals, board members, faculty, alumni, and members of the greater Mesrobian family, praying for the Lord to lead them to new and greater successes and for Mesrobian School to continue to bring pride and joy to the community and to our Prelacy family for years to come.
