National Funeral Service to be Held for Community Activist Hagop Manjikian

H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, clergy, and the Religious and Executive Councils mourn the loss of veteran community activist Hagop Manjikian, who passed away on October 18, 2019.

A national funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 2nd, at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Martyrs Church in Encino, followed by interment at Hollywood Hills Forest Lawn.

Hagop Manjikian played a crucial role in the formation of our community, particularly through his membership in the ARF. He was one of the organizers of the ARF Western Region Central Committee, ANCA Western Region, and Hamazkayin and Homenetmen in Los Angeles. He was involved in the establishment of Ferrahian High School in Encino and the Armenian Genocide Martyrs Monument in Montebello. He devoted his life to scholarly pursuits, and in particular to the history of the ARF, publishing the three-volume ARF Album Atlas dedicated to the ARF 100th anniversary together with his wife. He was awarded the Holy See of Cilicia “St. Mesrob Mashdots” medal for his vast and valuable service and contributions.

The Prelate and Councils express their condolences to his wife Knar, daughters Tamar and George Mashigian, Salpy Manjikian, and Victoria Manjikian, grandchildren, extended family and friends.

May his memory remain ever blessed.
