Beginning in 1973, Holy Mass was celebrated on a regular basis in Orange County.  In 1979, a permanent parish priest was assigned to the community.  On November 25, 1984 the groundbreaking ceremony took place and the building of the Church began.. The blessing and consecration took place on July 19, 1988 by His Holiness Karekin II of the Great House of Cilicia (later Karekin I, Catholicos of All Armenians).
