On Sunday, April 10, 2022, Palm Sunday was celebrated within the Western Prelacy churches, where the faithful experienced the spiritual joy which the feast of Palm Sunday brings to everyone.
On this occasion, H.G. Bishop Torkom Donoyan, Prelate, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at Holy Martyrs Church in Encino. Prior to the children’s procession, the Prelate delivered his message, during which he beseeched God, saying; “Lord, let our eyes be opened, that we may distinguish right from wrong, and wheat from the weeds. We want to see Your victories on earth, therefore open our eyes, Lord! Our souls are longing for peace, and may the joy of our children be multiplied, and may your Divine power be assured to them.” At the end of the message, the Prelate also called for love and unity for all and blessed the thousands of believers who filled the church.
The godfather for the “Opening of the Altar’s curtain (trnpatsek)” ceremony was Mr. Mike Sarian.
THE COURTYARD WHERE THE CHURCH OFFICES ARE LOCATED WAS NAMED KHATOUN SARIAN COURTYARD
Immediately after the church service, a special blessing service of the courtyard where the Church offices are located was conducted by the Prelate. The courtyard was named after Mike Sarian’s noble mother, Mrs. Khatoun Sarian, a trusted benefactor of the community.
It should be reminded that recently Mr. Sarian donated one hundred thousand dollars. The blessing ceremony was attended by the Chair and members of the Executive Council, as well as representatives of community organizations and a large number of faithful.
