On Friday, March 13, 2015, Rose and Alex Pilibos School celebrated its 45th anniversary with a gala banquet held at Taglyan Hall in Hollywood. H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, attended and conveyed his message and blessings to the school family. Among the more than 500 guests in attendance were members of the Central Executive and Executive Council, Board of Regents, sister organizations, founding generation, past principals, sponsors, and parents. The banquet was hosted by benefactors Mr. and Mrs. Varant and Hoori Melkonian. During the program, members of the founding generation and past principals were honored for their contributions to the establishment and advancement of the school.
The Prelate began his message by commending and congratulating the school members and supporters on their milestone anniversary. He commended the founders who forty-five years ago had the vision and forethought to set the foundation for an Armenian School, subsequent principals and teachers who advanced that vision, the Melkonian family and sponsors for their valuable support. Tonight is a celebration of the legacy of the founding generation, of the unwavering dedication of the principals and teachers, and of the sacrifice of the parents, the collective fruits of which are the achievements we witness in our students, said the Prelate. Thus, he urged them all to keep pursuing their goals without allowing obstacles to hinder their efforts or determination in order to uphold Pilibos School as a bastion of Armenian spirit and identity.
