On Wednesday, March 29, 2017, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, presided over Sunrise Service at St. Garabed Church in Hollywood, joined by Very Rev. Fr. Torkom Dononoyan, Very Rev. Fr. Vache Balekjian, and Archpriest Fr. Vicken Vassilian. Rose and Alex Pilibos High School students attended the service. They were accompanied by Principal Dr. Alina Dorian and teachers.
The Prelate delivered his message, beginning by inviting the students to examine themselves and grow in God’s love, peace, and grace. His Eminence noted that we are in the second half of Great Lent, which is a time to expel from within us negative thoughts, feelings, and attitudes, and invite in love. “Great Lent is not solely about restricting certain foods. The heart of Great Lent is introspection, self-analysis, self-improvement, and spiritual renewal. As we approach the end of Great Lent, we must re-evaluate ourselves and turn to God in repentance so that we may welcome the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ with pure hearts and spirits,” stressed the Prelate.
