On Thursday, December 14, 2017, the annual Western Prelacy Ladies Auxiliary New Year and Christmas Luncheon-Boutique was held under the auspices of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, at Glenoaks Ballroom in Glendale, hosted by Prelacy benefactor Mrs. Satig Der Ohanessian.
The Prelate was joined by H.E. Arcbishop Shahan Sarkissian, Prelate of Aleppo, Very Rev. Fr. Torkom Donoyan, Vicar General, and Archpriest Fr.

Nareg Pehlivanian. Guests included members of the Armenian Relief Society Western Region Executive and various chapters, members of parishes’ Ladies Guilds, sponsors, and friends.
Ladies Auxiliary member and Mistress of Ceremonies Mrs. Sossy Guekguezian welcomed the guests and invited the clergy for the blessing of tables.
Following the invocation the Prelate delivered his message, first greeting and thanking all the attendees and especially the hostess for her generous support. The Prelate acknowledged the presence of Archbishop Sarkissian and wished him continued strength in his worthy and challenging mission. Reflecting on the upcoming Christmas celebration, the Prelate stated, “The good tidings of the birth of our Lord and Savior already warm our hearts. The Feast of the Nativity and Theophany reminds us of God’s boundless love for mankind, demonstrated through the incarnation of Christ. It is also a reminder and beautiful message of humility.” The Prelate concluded by commending the members of the Ladies Auxiliary for their faithful service.
Throughout the luncheon guests enjoyed Christmas carols sung by a group of students from Rose and Alex Pilibos School, who were dressed in festive attire, as well as traditional and popular Armenian songs and a visit from Santa Clause. Various booths were set up selling holiday wares.
At the conclusion of the luncheon, Mrs. Satig Der Ohanessian was honored with a plaque and bouquet of flowers by the Prelate and Ladies Auxiliary.
