By the invitation of Catholic Senior Chaplain Eve Ortiz, on Saturday, April 30, the first gathering of chaplains who serve at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood was held at Our Lady of Grace Parish Center in Encino. Our Prelacy was represented by Chaplain Rafi Garabedian.
The purpose of the gathering was for each chaplain to provide information about the mission and ministry of their respective congregation. Chaplain Rafi delivered the closing prayer and noted that the Prelate pays special attention to the Western Prelacy jail ministry by assigning volunteer pastors and chaplains to offer spiritual nourishment at local area jails.
