Prelacy Religious Council Resumes its Endeavors with Renewed Vigor

On the morning of Tuesday, August 6, 2013, the Religious Council held its meeting at the Prelacy, presided over by H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, and with the participation of clergy members from Southern California parishes.

The meeting convened with a collective prayer.  The Prelate first acknowledged the appointment of Very Rev. Fr. Muron Aznikian as Dean of Holy Cross Cathedral in Montebello, wishing him success in his new mission, and welcomed the two priests who recently began their service within our Prelacy, Rev. Fr. Karekin Bedourian at Forty Martyrs Church in Orange County and Rev. Fr. Boghos Baltayan at St. Sarkis Church in Pasadena, conveying his well wishes to them as well.

On the agenda were religious, administrative, educational, and organizational matters.

With regards to upcoming events in the coming weeks, it was decided to resume Bible Studies in our parishes in the first week of September with renewed drive and enthusiasm, and to restart rehearsals of the “Lousavorich” Choir.  With regards to continued support of day schools and Sunday Schools, in the coming weeks clergy members will participate in the commencement of the new academic year for both.  Special attention will also be given to youth activities.  Fr. Boghos and Fr. Karekin will assist in these endeavors.
