On Tuesday, December 29, 2015, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, and clergy paid a visit to Ararat Home in Mission Hills to convey their felicitations and spread cheer to the administration, faculty, and residents on the occasion of the New Year and Christmas.
The visit began at the Skilled Nursing Facility. Prior to the service, Board Chairman Mr. Joseph Kanimian greeted the Prelate and clergy, conveyed his gratitude for their regular visits and blessings, and presented the Prelate with an honorary lifetime membership certificate in appreciation for his years-long support of Ararat Home. The blessing of water followed. The residents joined in the singing of Christmas hymns and received Holy Communion. The Prelate conveyed his New Year and Christmas blessings and well wishes, commended the Board and staff for their compassionate care, and reminded all that we must always express our gratitude to our Lord for His boundless love, the greatest demonstration of which was the sending of His Only-Begotten Son for the salvation of mankind.
The visit continued with a prayer service and blessing of water at the Sheen Memorial Chapel, after which His Eminence conveyed his blessings and New Year and Christmas wishes to the attendees.
The visit concluded with lunch hosted by the Administration, which began with the invocation by the Prelate. On behalf of His Eminence and clergy, Very Rev. Fr. Boghos Tinkjian thanked the administration for their hospitality and spoke of the importance of giving thanks to God always for all His blessings. Remarks were conveyed by administrators and residents, all of whom thanked the clergy for their spiritually uplifting visit and services. The Prelate once again wished health and happiness in the New Year to all. The luncheon continued in a warm festive atmosphere with the singing of Christmas songs, and concluded with “Cilicia.”
