Prelate Attends CASPS Concert Dedicated to Gomidas

On Sunday, November 24, a special program of music and poetry dedicated to Gomidas, “Father of Modern Armenian Music”, was held at the Colburn School of Performing Arts in downtown Los Angeles.  The event, titled “The Ever-Ringing Belfry”, was organized by the Committee for Armenian Students in Public Schools (CASPS) and the program was performed by the Lark Musical Society.

The Prelate attended the concert, accompanied by Rev. Fr. Boghos Tinkjian.  Executive Council Mrs. Rima Boghossian and members Mr. George Chorbajian and Dr. Dikran Babikian were also in attendance.

Remarks were delivered by CASPS Chairman Mr. Ruben Gourjian, CASPS Executive Director Mrs. Arsineh Hovannisian, and Mrs. Takouhi Arzoumanian on behalf of LARK.

Proceeds from the event were dedicated by LARK to CASPS to benefit Armenian students.  In appreciation of this gesture, members of CASPS presented LARK with a kamancha brought by Armenia, and thanked LARK director Vatsche Barsoumian and teachers for their participation in the program.
