On Saturday, January 31, 2015, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, attended the Enthronement Gala Celebration of His Eminence Metropolitan Joseph Zehlaoui, who was elevated to Archbishop of New York and Metropolitan of North America after two decades of service to the Antiochian Orthodox Diocese of Los Angeles and the West.

The enthronement took place on December 6 in New York, at which time the Prelate had sent a congratulatory letter.
At the gala, held at the Sheraton Universal Hotel, the Prelate had the opportunity to personally congratulate Metropolitan Joseph, with whom he has a nearly two-decade long friendship and fellowship. In his address, the Prelate offered congratulations and prayers for the Lord to guide and lead Metropolitan Joseph in his new responsibilities. His Eminence characterized Metropolitan Joseph as a true servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, a good shepherd of his flock, and a faithful spiritual leader worthy of his new mission, and concluded by wishing him good health and divine wisdom and strength in his leadership of the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese and faithful.
At the conclusion of his address, the Prelate presented Metropolitan Joseph with a gold-plated cross as a gesture of their friendship.
