On Friday, March 10, 2017 the 47th anniversary gala of Rose and Alex Pilibos School was held under the auspices of H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, at Metropol Banquet Hall in Glendale with the theme “Onward and Upward.”
The Prelate attended and conveyed his message and blessings to the school family. He was joined by Archpriest Fr. Vicken Vassilian and Executive Council member Dr. Kaloust Agopian. Congressman Adam Schiff, community leaders, St. Garabed Church and community members, benefactors and sponsors were among the guests in attendance.
The program began with the welcome by MC Janet Shamilian and opening remarks by Gala Committee Chair Liliane Arejian. Archpriest Fr. Vicken Vassilian delivered the invocation, after which Congressman Schiff conveyed his congratulatory message and Dr. Alina Dorian delivered the Principal’s address.

The Prelate conveyed his message, which was centered on the gala’s theme. Taking inspiration from Isaiah 40:31, His Eminence encouraged the school family to keep looking onward and upward, to soar with wings like an eagle, run without becoming weary, and walk without weakening. He congratulated and commended the principal, administration, school board, faculty, and parents for their dedication to the progress and advancement of the school, and urged them to continue to motivate one another to soar to new heights and enjoy even greater successes as did the school’s founders, whose memories he also blessed.
