Over the summer, Vahan and Anoush Chamlian School underwent renovations and expansions in preparation for the 2017-2018 academic year. The unveiling ceremony of the new Kindergarten classroom, memorial garden, and playground took place on Monday, August 14, 2017, with the participation of Dr. Talin Kargodorian, Principal, School Board members, faculty, sponsors, and friends. H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, presided over the ribbon-cutting ceremonies and conveyed his congratulations and blessings.

The ceremony commenced with opening remarks by Chamlian’s Director of Facilities, Mr. Emil Tatevosian. Next, Dr. Talin Kargodorian thanked all stakeholders for their continued support during the last four decades as Chamlian continues to grow, thrive, and reach new heights. The Prelate congratulated the school and noted that the new improvements on campus will positively impact student performance, parent satisfaction, and help the school excel. He also congratulated and thanked all the donors.
During the ceremony, the generous donors were honored with plaques for their support. They were: Mr. and Mrs. Michael and Lara Tchakmakjian, Mr. and Mrs. Razmig and Rita Hovsepian, and Mr. and Mrs. Murad and Flora Ookhtens who sponsored the new garden in memory of their daughter Melanie.
Thereafter, guests had the opportunity to tour the new spaces.
