Prelate Celebrates Christmas Eve Divine Liturgy at St. Mary’s Church in Glendale

On Friday, January 5, 2018, the eve of the Feast of the Nativity and Theophany of our Lord Jesus Christ was celebrated with Divine Liturgy and Jrakalooyts, Lighting of the Candles, service, symbolizing the Light of Christ being born into the world. H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, celebrated Christmas Eve service at St. Mary’s Church in Glendale. He was assisted by Archpriest Fr. Vazken Atmajian and Rev. Fr. Movses Shannakian.

The Prelate delivered his sermon on the “Light of God” born into the world with the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ as the guide of our lives, stating that He came to bring light to a darkened world, love, hope, and salvation. He came as the greatest symbol of humility, obedience, and sacrificial service, to guide us back to the path of righteousness and reconcile us with God the Father as our Good and True Shepherd. His inextinguishable, enlightening, and guiding Light has burned bright for centuries and brought new and abundant life for mankind, stated the Prelate, and invited all to continue to walk in His Light and bear witness of His Light, and to live a life of love, peace, harmony, and goodwill toward others in our Lord’s ideal example.

The Jrakalooyts service was held at the conclusion of Divine Liturgy.
