2018 marks the 50th anniversary of His Holiness Catholicos Aram I’s ordination and consecration to the priesthood. It was in 1968, on the 50th anniversary of the first Republic of Armenia, that His Holiness entered the priesthood. On this occasion, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, sent a congratulatory letter to His Holiness on behalf of Prelacy clergy, Delegates, Religious and Executive Councils, and faithful.
“For fifty years Your Holiness has tirelessly and devotedly served the Holy See of Cilicia, the Armenian Church, our nation, and homeland, and as Catholicos since 1995 your leadership has been a guiding light for all. During the past fifty prolific years of service, Your Holiness has been a faithful servant of our Church, preacher of God’s Word, inspiring educator, renowned scholar, and champion of the Armenian Cause. You have brought international recognition to the Armenian Apostolic Church among the highest governmental and religious circles as an authoritative figure in the ecumenical and interfaith realm.”
The Prelate closed the letter by wishing His Holiness many healthy years to come, enduring vigor, wisdom, and a long Pontificate.
