The Prelate prayed for the Lord to guide Chief Povilaitis as he now carries the weight of the community’s safety and welfare on his shoulders, to grant him strength of will and prudence to fulfill the demands of his mighty duties and responsibilities, and grace him with divine wisdom as he leads the Glendale Police Department with honor and dignity, justice and fairness. His Eminence prayed for the Lord to watch over all police officers who bravely and selflessly put their lives on the line day in and day out to keep us safe, to grant them strength and courage to face the dangers of today’s world, and to protect their families as well. Finally, the Prelate beseeched the Lord’s blessings upon the honorable Mayor and City Council, all government officials, civil servants, members of service organizations, and residents, who work in accord as members of one family for the wellbeing and prosperity of the vibrant and beautiful Jewel City.
