Lisa Gaboudian, and a keynote speech by CSUN Armenian Studies Director Dr. Vahram Shemmassian, who spoke on the topic “Challenges and Methods for Armenian Language Revitalization.”

In his message, the Prelate highlighted the “Year of Service” proclamation of His Holiness Aram I, emphasizing the words of our Pontiff that “service is the expression of the love and dedication we have for others” and is a “moral obligation and duty” for us all. With those thoughts, the Prelate spoke of the importance of the teaching profession, stating, “Teaching is one of the noblest professions, and as you know, it is also one of the most challenging yet one of the most rewarding,” and noting that teachers not only educate minds but also shape hearts, build character, and provide valuable support and encouragement to our youth as mentors, counselors, and friends.

The Prelate also spoke of the importance of continuing education, and thus commended the Board of Regents for providing the opportunity each year for educators to come together to enhance their skills by sharing their knowledge and experiences. His Eminence also commended the educators and speakers for designating their day off to participate in the seminar, which he stated shows their true dedication to their calling, and urged all the participants to continue their service with the same commitment and vigor.
