H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, and the Religious and Executive joint Councils are pleased to announce to our faithful that H.E. Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian, Prelate of Aleppo, will pay an official visit to the Western Prelacy from October 9 – 20, 2014.
During his visit, Archbishop Sarkissian will have various meetings with the community leadership and members to report on the situation in Syria and the challenges and needs of the Armenian community.

He will also have the opportunity to visit local Armenian schools.
On Tuesday, September 30, a meeting was held at St. Mary’s Church in Glendale presided over by the Prelate and with the participation of the Executive Council divan, Syrian Armenian Relief Fund (SARF), and representatives of Syrian-Armenian schools’ alumni associations to draft a schedule of events ahead of the Prelate’s visit.
We hereby announce that on Wednesday, October 15, a community forum, organized by SARF and the alumni associations, will be held at St. Mary’s Church “Armenak Der Bedrosian” Hall in Glendale, at 7:30 p.m.
On the evening of Friday, October 10, Archbishop Sarkissian will deliver his message at the eve of the Feast of the Holy Translators service which will take place at Holy Martyrs Church in Encino at 7:00 p.m., presided over by the Prelate and with the participation of Prelacy clergy.
On Sunday, October 12, Archbishop Sarkissian will celebrate Divine Liturgy and deliver the sermon at Forty Martyrs Church in Orange County on the occasion of the Feast of the Holy Translators and Armenian Culture month.
On Sunday, October 19, Archbishop Sarkissian will celebrate Divine Liturgy and deliver the sermon at St. Mary’s Church in Glendale.
