Prelate Presides over Back-to-School Ceremony of Tavlian School

On Friday August 24, 2018, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, presided over the back-to-school ceremony of Levon and Hasmig Tavlian Preschool and Kindergarten in Pasadena. He was accompanied by St. Sarkis Church Parish Pastor Rev. Fr. Boghos Baltayan and special guest H.

E. Archbishop Gomidas Ohanian. In attendance were School Board members, ARF “Lernavayr” Gomideh Chair, St. Sarkis Church Board of Trustees and Ladies Guild members, parents, and sponsors.

The ceremony began with the national anthems, followed by the singing of the Lord’s Prayer by the students, and a prayer of blessing by the Prelate. Welcoming remarks were delivered by Mrs. Garine Joukhadarian, Director. The students presented a number of songs.

In his message, the Prelate commended the administration and faculty for their devoted and loving service, sacrifice, and care of the young students and wished for a safe and productive new school year during which the hearts and minds of the children will be enriched with our national and religious treasures. He recognized also the parents and sponsors who lend their valuable support to the School.

Following the official ceremony, the Prelate and guests visited classrooms and were later hosted to a reception.
