On Sunday, June 9, 2019, the feast of Pentecost, H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, presided over Divine Liturgy and delivered the sermon at St. Sarkis Church in Pasadena.

By the request of the Armenian Bone Marrow Donor Registry (ABMDR) and the directive of the Prelate, on this day prayers were offered in all Prelacy Churches for the health of the ABMDR’s patients and strength to the members. ABMDR President Dr. Frieda Jordan and members attended Divine Liturgy at St. Sarkis Church.

Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Boghos Baltayan.

Prior to the sermon, the Prelate greeted and commended the representatives of the ABMDR for their two-decades of devoted service. His Eminence then spoke on the message and meaning of Pentecost, highlighting the effect of the Holy Spirit in our lives and beseeching the Lord to pour out the Holy Spirit upon us and strengthen us as the disciples were strengthened.

During “Der Voghormya,” prayers were offered for patients and members of the ABMDR.

At the conclusion of the service, Dr. Jordan spoke to the congregation about the ABMDR’s history and mission and thanked the Prelate and Prelacy Churches for their continuous support.

Following the service, the Prelate presided over the Father’s Day luncheon hosted by the Parish Pastor and Board of Trustees at “Hovhannes and Hripsime Jivalagian Youth Center.”

Following the invocation, His Eminence conveyed his blessings and congratulations to all fathers and prayed for the power and grace of the Holy Spirit to reinforce them and kindle our families. Remarks were conveyed by Board of Trustees Chair Hagop Yedalian. During lunch, guests enjoyed a musical performance by members of the Church choir. The program concluded with the benediction by the parish pastor.
